Who we are and how we got here
I learned masonry on a municipal crew, laying block and fixing city walls that got inspected and had to hold up. On a crew like that you learn fast that shortcuts come back around with your name on them, so we still build every wall like someone's coming to check it. I started G&R Midland Concrete and Masonry in 2023 to bring that same careful work to homes and small buildings here in Midland. Most construction work in the city needs a building permit, and that suits me fine, because I'm used to work that gets looked at.
Our calls come from homeowners, landlords and small business owners with a crack, a leak or something that needs building right the first time. We're best known for neat repointing, brick repair and block walls that go up straight. Bad mortar is good at exactly one thing, letting water in, so I'd rather fix a joint once than come back to it a few years from now. You can see everything we take on from our home page.

I come out to look at every job myself, and then I work on it alongside our crew. What we talked about in your driveway is what gets built, because the same person is there for both.
A written estimate you can compare
Estimates are free, done on site and carry no obligation. You get it in writing, in plain words, with what's in and what's out spelled out, so you can line it up against other bids.
We'll tell you when a small fix will do
If a few cracked bricks or some tired joints are the whole problem, we'll say so, even when a bigger job would pay us more. I'd rather keep your trust than sell you a wall you didn't need.

We set lines, check level as we go and tool joints neat, because a crooked wall stays crooked and bad mortar only gets worse.
Clean finish
We clean off mortar smears, haul off the scraps and leave your yard the way we found it, minus the cracked brick.
